Hello Friends!
In the months when we don’t release the main issue of Blotted Ink Conspiracies, we publish a shorter, supplementary edition to keep our readers from dying of boredom. (I promise, this is a legitimate concern.)
These “off-month issues” are lighter in content but still—at least in theory—full of creativity, updates, and surprises.
We warmly welcome—and even encourage—our subscribers to contribute material for these editions!
Whether it’s poetry, short stories, artwork, thought-provoking essays, or whimsical pieces that capture the spirit of Blotted Ink Conspiracies, we’d love to showcase your wonderful lack of writer’s block.
Below, you’ll find more details and guidelines if you’re interested in having us publish your work!
SUBMISSION AGREEMENT:
By submitting your work to us, you grant us non-exclusive permission to publish it in our publication (print and/or digital), including associated promotional materials. You retain full ownership and copyright of your submitted work and are free to publish it elsewhere at any time.
We reserve the right to request edits for clarity, tone, length, formatting, or alignment with our editorial standards. You are under no obligation to accept these suggested edits; however, if edits are declined and the piece does not meet our editorial guidelines, we may choose not to publish it.
Once a piece is accepted and published, it becomes part of our publication record. We are not obligated to remove published works upon request, though takedown requests may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis at our discretion. By submitting your work, you acknowledge that:
You are the original author and hold the rights to the work.
You grant us non-exclusive rights to publish it.
You understand publication is final unless otherwise agreed upon.
You accept that once published, takedown requests are not guaranteed to be honored.
This agreement exists to protect your creative rights while allowing us to maintain the integrity, consistency, and accessibility of our publication.
All Submissions should be made to the Blotted Ink Conspiracies Email: [email protected]
QUESTION SECTION:
Questions can be on any subject you desire.
If you’d like your question answered by a particular person, please note that clearly when submitting.
Please keep in mind that just because your question doesn’t appear in the issue directly after submission, it hasn’t necessarily been ruled out. We keep a running list and cycle through them in a varied and interesting manner.
BIRTHDAY LETTERS:
In order to write a glorious birthday letter to someone random in your life, we need some random facts to run to the hills with. Besides their first name and age, some of the following info would be helpful:
Hobbies and interests
Crazy stories
Weird facts
Favorite color
Least favorite food
Something they think only you know about them
Beloved pet
An out-of-the-ordinary piece of clothing they insist on wearing
A phrase they say all the time
A movie, book, or TV show they’ve watched an unhealthy number of times
The most dramatic way they’ve ever injured themselves (bonus points if it involves something embarrassing, like a squirrel)
The job they’d probably be doing in an alternate universe
A snack combo they swear by that horrifies everyone else
Their unofficial (and possibly unwanted) nickname
A gift they once received that they pretended to love but secretly resent
Their greatest unexplored talent—be it yodeling, llama-whispering, or writing fanfiction for obscure ’90s cartoons
Please provide at least four of the above details. We can only write one birthday letter per month, so the earlier you submit, the better your chances!
Birthday letter requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the first day of the person’s birthday month. Otherwise, we won’t have time to write it.
Once we’ve written your letter, we’ll give you access to the slide it is on so you can print or privately share it however you like.
